Once you have settled into your hotel, today begins with the Reina Sofía National Art Center Museum. Here you can discover great modern and contemporary art works with Picasso's Guernica as the main attraction. The visit can take hours or even half a day if you are an art lover. So take it easy and enjoy each painting. In the afternoon you will have time to discover the city. Take the opportunity to visit the vertical garden of the CaixaForum, stroll through the Barrio de las Letras, eat a squid sandwich in the Plaza Mayor or go see the Almudena Cathedral and the Royal Palace.
The Reina Sofía National Museum closes on Tuesdays, so if you arrive on this day, start with another of the museums.
The Reina Sofía opens at 10am and closes at 9pm. On Sundays at 2:30 p.m.
Remember to wear comfortable shoes for your visit.
This day begins with a bang strong with a visit to the Prado National Museum, ranked among the top ten in the world. This museum has more than 34,000 pieces of art, among which its El Bosco collections stand out, with such fascinating paintings as El Jardín de las Delicias; Titian, El Greco, Rubens, Velázquez and Goya. This visit will take you at least 2:30 hours and if you are an art lover, maybe much more. Once you finish your visit, it is a good time to go to the Retiro park, take a walk, take a boat in the pond or rest in one of its gardens.
In the areas of Latina, Huertas, Moncloa and Malasaña you will find many places where you can have tapas at any time of the day and where you can have a drink at night.
The Prado Museum opens at 10am and closes at 8pm, Monday to Saturday, and at 7pm on Sundays and holidays. The last entrance to the museum is 30 minutes before closing, although we recommend that you don't leave it until the end because in 30 minutes you won't see much...
Today it's time to visit the third museum of this Triangle of Art: the Thyssen. The visit will also take a few hours. Afterwards, you can go to the Puerta de Alcalá and the Cibeles Fountain. The Neptune Fountain is also very close to the Thyssen museum. This day you can go to the beautiful Atocha Station, you can do it on foot or by metro. If you have time, you can get lost in the city center, eat on Huertas street or enjoy the sunset at the Temple of Debod.
