Upon arrival at Palma de Mallorca airport, the driver will be waiting to take you to Alcudia, Ca'n Picafort or Pollença, on a journey that will take approximately 1 hour. When you arrive at your hotel, it's a good time to get comfortable and get to know the surroundings of your hotel and beach area. Whether you stay in Alcudia, Pollença or Ca'n Picafort, you will find a wide range of leisure activities, restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, supermarkets and souvenirs.
After a long trip, the best thing you can do is enjoy this day at the beach in Mallorca. All the beaches have sun loungers and umbrellas for a fee, but you can always go with your towel and lie on the sand of Playa de Alcudia, Puerto Pollença or Ca'n Picafort. In the first line of any of them, you will find a great gastronomic offer, shops, bars, cafeterias, souvenirs and even perfumeries and supermarkets. Our recommendation is that you relax, enjoy the sun and the sea breeze and take the opportunity to eat a good paella with a very cold sangria (the classic that never fails) in front of the sea. When night falls, you can enjoy the summer atmosphere of the area: romantic restaurants, cocktail bars, chill out bars, pubs with live music and travelers from all over the world happy to be in Mallorca. Quite a privilege!
Alcudia and Pollença have been awarded the Most Beautiful Town in Spain award. This means that they meet a series of strict requirements, since this distinction is not awarded to any municipality, but rather has to be thoroughly examined by the experts of the Spanish organization The Most Beautiful Town in Spain. In fact, in this list of towns awarded as the most beautiful in Spain, there are only three in the Balearic Islands.
The perfect sangria is made at the moment and is homemade -no bricks, bottles, or taps- so it will take a few minutes to serve it. Our recommendation is that you ask the waiter first if they make it themselves, this way you will avoid disappointment... Sangria is usually served in a jug, at least one liter, so if there is an option to order just one glass, doubt that it is homemade already. that its elaboration takes many ingredients and it is not profitable or feasible to serve it individually.
Although we can find several types of sangria, the classic sangria is red wine. The ingredients that sangria usually has are:
There are slight variations on what is included change the natural orange juice for orange or lemon soda. There are even those who make sangria with soda. All these formulas are valid and are very rich. The important thing is that they make it in the same establishment and not pour a liter of bottled sangria into a pretty jar...
In the morning, a bus will pick you up at your hotel or nearest point to start this excursion through the beautiful Sierra de la Tramuntana. The first stop will be Valldemossa, a fairytale town where you can walk through its streets and cobblestone houses on your own or with the guide. Of course, you will also have the option of visiting the Royal Charterhouse of Valldemossa on your own, where illustrious figures of the stature of Chopin, George Sand, Rubén Darío or Jovellanos lived. Tickets can be purchased at the same complex. As we will arrive early, you will have no problem accessing the Cartuja.
After the visit to Valldemossa, the bus will take you to the beautiful municipality of Sóller. To get there, you will cross the Sierra de Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and leave behind the small but pretty town of Deià, place that was the residence of the writer Robert Graves, to contemplate, Finally, the charming Sóller valley, famous for its orange and lemon trees, its mythical orange tramway and its olive trees.

The Sóller tram was the first electric tram in Mallorca. It was manufactured in 1913 to unite the town with the Port of Sóller. At first it was designed for passenger transport but the needs and the great commercial activity of the time meant that it was also used for the transport of goods, including even an isothermal wagon to transport fish from the port to the center of Sóller.

This half-day excursion is perfect to get to know the Cuevas del Drach, a natural wonder, and visit the famous pearl factory, Majorica. In the afternoon you will be at your hotel so you will have time to enjoy the beach or the pool.
A coach will pick you up at your hotel or the nearest point (depending on whether the bus can access it properly) and will take you to Porto Cristo, where the beautiful Cuevas del Drach are located. This visit lasts approximately 80 minutes in which you will visit the caves through a route where you will discover the different caverns and cross the beautiful Lake Martel in a wooden boat. Lake Martel is one of the largest underground lakes in existence and the highlight of this visit, which also includes a classical music concert. Can you imagine enjoying music in an environment as spectacular as the Cuevas del Drach? Without a doubt, it will be an unforgettable experience and difficult to repeat anywhere other than Mallorca...
To end the excursion, nothing better than stopping at the well-known Perlas Majorica factory, an icon of Mallorca since 1890, and admire its windows full of cultured and elaborated pearls. This visit will only last 30 minutes and, if you wish, you can buy some of their earrings, necklaces, rings or bracelets.
Majorica Pearls are an emblem of Mallorca. Its first center and main factory is located in the municipality of Manacor, although there are stores in many other parts of Mallorca. Since 1890, they were pioneers in the creation and production of high quality artificial pearls -maintaining the patent until 1948-, and in human resources, generating job stability in the town of Manacor and making this town and its pearls known internationally. The employment was always carried out by women, the so-called "pearlers" who had stable work all year round and extraordinary benefits for that time, including childcare service in the factory itself and a commissary where the pearling families could make their provisioning of provisions. Quite an advance for that time that, together with the treatment and conditions, added the affection of the Majorcan people to the quality of its products.
There is less time left to finish the holidays in Mallorca, so nothing better than enjoying the beach atmosphere, the sun, the beach bars, the paella, the sangria with your feet in the sand, the summer sunsets, the walks along the shore ...
