Travel guide of Imperial capitals of Morocco: Marrakech, Fez, Meknes and Casablanca

Day 1:

MARRAKESH

Arrival in MARRAKECH. Welcome to Morocco. Transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon we include a horse-drawn carriage ride to the famous Jemaa Square. Dinner included.

Day 2:

MARRAKESH

We include a panoramic visit of this city that gave its name to the country. We will visit the great walls of the city, Jemaa Square with its activity, we will walk through the colorful Medina, we will see the Kutubiya tower, we includeentrance and visit to the Bahia Palace. Lunch included. Free time, you can relax in the hotel pool and garden, or shop in the Marrakech Souks. At night the possibility of living the fantasy party (optional).

Day 3:

MARRAKECH - OUZOUD - FEZ

Our stage today is longer. We leave early for the OUZOUD FALLS, we are surprised in Morocco by this place full of peace, with the highest waterfalls in North Africa (110 meters), located in the Middle Atlas and in an area between spectacular gorges. We include a short boat ride and lunch at a restaurant with a beautiful view of the waterfall. You can have fun watching the macaques (Moroccan monkeys) that live in this area.


We continue our route south of the Atlas. Arrival in FEZ, before going to the hotel we will admire the view of the city from the Marinid tombs (according to sunlight it can be seen the next day at the beginning of the visit).Dinner and accommodation.

Day 4:

FEZ - VOLUBILIS - MULAY IDRIS - MEKNES

We include a visit to FEZ, we enter through the bronze doors of the Royal Palace, the Jewish quarter, its lively souks, the tanners' quarter. The cultural capital of the country, home of the oldest university in the world. The city of Fez was founded in the 9th century and is known for its impressive Medina that preserves the traditional Arab atmosphere like no other. At the end of the visit we include lunch in an old palace in the Medina.


After lunch we travel to the archaeological site of VOLUBILIS, declared a World Heritage Site. of Humanity, founded in the 3rd century BC, the city of Volubilis, capital of Mauritania Tingitana, was an important military outpost of the Roman Empire in which multiple monuments of great beauty were erected. Admission included-. Very close is MULAY IDRIS, a holy city and place of pilgrimage for Muslims in Morocco (a city closed to non-Muslims until 1912 - until 2005 non-Muslims were not allowed to spend the night) where he is buried. Mulay Idris, great-grandson of the Prophet Muhammad and founder of the first royal dynasty of Morocco.



Continuation to MEKNES, dinner and accommodation.

Day 5:

MEKNES - ROBAT - CASABLANCA

Visit of MEKNES, another fascinating city declared a World Heritage Site, which was founded for military purposes in the 11th century by the Almoravids, and was the capital of the kingdom during the times of Sultan Mulay Ismail (1672- 1727), founder of the Alawite dynasty. This sovereign built an impressive city in the Spanish-Moorish style, surrounding it with high walls punctuated by monumental doors. We will be surprised by the immense Bab el Mansur Gate and the activity in El Hedim Square (reminiscent of D, Jemaa Square in Marrakech). We include entry to theMulay Ismail Mausoleum.


After the visit, free time and continuation on the highway, time for lunch in the service area. Arrival in RABAT, and panoramic visit of the capital of the Kingdom. We know the powerful fortress of the Oudaia, the Hassan tower where the mausoleum of King Mohamed V is located, the walls of the Andalusians, the outer enclosure of the Royal Palace and the modern embassy neighborhoods. After our visit, brief free time and continuation of the route.



CASABLANCA -Arrival at the end of the day. Dinner included.

Day 6:

CASABLANCA - MARRAKECH

This morning we include a visit with a local guide to get to know the largest city and economic center of Morocco. We will walk through its large avenues, walk through the beautiful Plaza de Mohamed V with its fountain of Moorish buildings and palm trees and through the Arab League Park. We also know the little Medina. We include the entrance and visit to the enormous Hassan II Mosque (the only mosque in Morocco where entry to non-Muslims is authorized), located by the sea, with its 210-meter-high minaret with lights laser on its top that points to Mecca. After that, free time for lunch in the pleasant maritime area of “la corniche”.


Continuation towards MARRAKECH.

MARRAKESH
